Conversation about Diversity Among Friends
"About 40% of white Americans and about 25% of non-white Americans are exclusively surrounded by friends of their own race," according to an ongoing Reuters/Ipsos poll. Why is it important to have diversity in your friend circle? What are the hindrances from having diversity in your social interactions? At this discussion event, students will break into small discussion circles then come together as a large group to share their thoughts about these questions and this article describing the poll: http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/08/08/us-usa-poll-race-idUSBRE97704320130808.
