MCCSC Table Talk on Support for English Learners

Developing social and academic language skills is the foundation for English learners’ success in school. Simultaneously, K-12 English learners’ families must overcome multiple challenges when they are newcomers to our community. The MCCSC has supports in place for K-12 English language students, but this process requires support from our whole community. Indiana University and the City of Bloomington, along with many other community organizations, recognize that when these families succeed, all citizens of Monroe County prosper. Please join us for a discussion regarding supports that meet the needs of English learners at all language proficiency levels. We will also address current efforts of the MCCSC and community partners that enhance students’ learning and promote family engagement. Interpreters Available: Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Spanish. Preservice teachers are welcome!
