Religious Freedom Restoration Act Forum on Federal and Indiana laws
This will be a three-part discussion series about recent laws involving religion in Indiana.
The first forum will be on the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, both the national law and the Indiana law. Does the appearance of these laws suggest a conflict between liberty and equality, specifically between religious liberty and equality of access to goods and services? If so, what do our public choices say about our culture and its ethical values?
Participants:
Katie Blair, Director of Advocacy, ACLU Indiana
James Bopp, Attorney for the Indiana Family Institute and American Family Association of Indiana
Beth Cate, Professor, School of Public and Environmental Affairs, IU-Bloomington
David Craig, Professor, Religious Studies, IUPUI
Hosted by the Center for Religion and American Culture and the Consortium for the Study of Religion, Ethics, and Society
