Global Competence Workshop #2: Creating 21st Century Learning Experiences

In these turbulent times, pre-service teachers should be prepared to educate for global competence by preparing our youth to engage the world. Scholars from Asia Society, Partnership for Global Learning, have emphasized this need in the following way: “The growing global interdependence that characterizes our time calls for a generation of individuals who can engage in effective global problem solving and participate simultaneously in local, national, and global civic life.” By engaging in meaningful and thought-provoking interactive activities, the participants will learn more about the four core dimensions of global competence: how globally competent students investigate the world, recognize perspectives, communicate ideas, and take action.
