Thirteenth: Literature and Legacy Event

Our first event will be on the Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, facilitated by Dr. Stephanie Li of IU Bloomington. This reading and dialogue is free and open to the public. Together, we will read and discuss short excerpts of Douglass’ narrative, contextualizing it in literary and legal history. We will be guided by the following question: What did the 13th Amendment really do, and what can we learn about race and liberty in the U.S.?  Contact for more information.
