Coliphage N4 displays a unique developmental cycle characterized by the use of three different DNA-dependent RNA polymerases, the use of single-stranded DNA binding proteins for activation/promoter recognition, mechanisms to inhibit host DNA replication and cell division and delayed host lysis resulting in the synthesis of 3,000 virion particles/infected bacteria
