The Music Department at Indiana University Southeast will present the New Millennium Duo in a free concert on Sunday, March 3 at 3:00pm in the Richard K. Stem Concert Hall of the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center on the IU Southeast campus, 4201 Grant Line Road in New Albany.

The duo, which is comprised of pianist, Grace Baugh-Bennett and double-bassist, Robert Docs will perform "Notturno, Op. 6," "Die Grossmutter träumt, Op. 20," and "Konzertstück, Op. 24" by Johann Geissel, "Sonata, Op. 6" by Adolf Mišek, "Croquis" by Serge Lancen, "Récit, Choral et Variations" by Denis Joly, and "Aria et Rondo" by Alfred Desenclos.

Founded in 2000, the NEW MILLENNIUM DUO represents a collaborative effort by double bassist Robert Docs and pianist Grace Baugh-Bennett to explore and expand the available literature for double bass and piano. The duo’s performances have included recitals on the Downtown Art and Music Series at the Cathedral of the Assumption and Lunchtime Classics on WUOL-FM as well as recitals at Kent State University, Jefferson Community College, and Bellarmine University.

Pianist Grace BAUGH-BENNETT maintains a busy career as a soloist and collaborative pianist. Her solo performances include appearances with the Louisville Ballet, The Louisville Orchestra, Orchestra Kentucky of Bowling Green, and the Murfreesboro Symphony Orchestra, as well as numerous recitals throughout the United States. Ms. Baugh-Bennett has performed on The Louisville Orchestra’s New Dimensions series, the radio recital series WFPK Live!, Lunchtime Classics on WUOL-FM, the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina, Musikfest Bethlehem in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, the International Double Reed Society convention in Muncie, Indiana, the Festival of American Art Song in Boulder, Colorado, and the Cleveland Art Song Festival in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1993 she performed at the First Osaka (Japan) International Chamber Music Festa with the Ceruti Chamber Players. Ms. Baugh-Bennett serves as pianist for The Louisville Orchestra, principal pianist of the Ceruti Chamber Players, and pianist/artistic director of Ars Vocalis. In 2000 she founded the New Millennium Duo with double bassist Robert Docs. Ms. Baugh-Bennett holds the Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in piano performance. Her principal teachers include Nina Svetlanova, Lee Luvisi, and Doris Owen Bickel. She serves as Instructor of Piano at Indiana University Southeast.

ROBERT DOCS holds the Bachelor of Music degree in music education from Kent State University and Master of Music degree in double bass performance from Ball State University. His principal teachers include Dr. Phillip Albright, Anthony Knight, and Dr. Moshe Amitay. Mr. Docs serves as principal double bassist of the Ceruti Chamber Players in addition to frequent performances with jazz combos and Broadway Series shows. In 2000 he founded the New Millennium Duo with pianist Grace Baugh-Bennett. A native of Akron, Ohio, Mr. Docs has been a member of The Louisville Orchestra since 1980.
