Read Across America: Celebrating Dr. Seuss's Birthday

March 2, 2012!

Those who are six, sixteen, sixty-four, and more have all kinds of great events in store for the National Education Association's twelfth annual observance of NEA's Read Across America. NEA is calling America's children, both young and old, to reward their learning by celebrating the joys of reading on Dr. Seuss's birthday. Readers of all ages are encouraged to celebrate!

The IU Southeast Children’s Center celebration will be a pajama reading party at the center and will take place on February 28, 2012, from 7:00 am till 8:00 pm.

So please mark your calendars now and feel free to call the IU Southeast Children’s Center @ (812) 941-2402 if you have questions/want to take part in our celebration/want to come read to the children during the time listed above. For more information about how to generate excitement for reading among America's children and their families and about best practices for motivating and teaching reading, visit
